Karadeniz Technical University Journal of the Faculty of Letters of aims to contribute to scientific knowledge by publishing scientific studies that include scientific studies in the fields of  social sciences. It is a peer-reviewed and scientific journal. 

Karadeniz Technical University Journal of the Faculty of Letters of aims to contribute to scientific knowledge by publishing scientific studies that include scientific studies in the fields of history, archeology, Turkish, Russian and English languages, as well as other fields of philology and social sciences such as sociology, psychology, art history and philosophy. It is a peer-reviewed and scientific journal. The journal is published annually (July) in the digital environment. A special issue can also be published with the decision of the editorial board. Articles written in Turkish, English, Russian or Arabic are accepted.

Guidelines for Authors

The texts to be sent for publication will be accepted via DergiPark. The names, surnames, titles and contact information of the authors should be specified in the e-mail to be sent.
• Manuscripts should be written in Times New Roman font in A4 size Microsoft Word compatible program.
• Title should be 12 points and lowercase. The header should be center aligned. Main and subheadings can be used in the text. Main and subheadings in the text should be left aligned in 11 points, lowercase letters and bolts. There should be 6 pt spacing between headings and paragraphs. Page numbers should be 10 points in the upper right corner.
• Turkish abstract should be given at the beginning of the text and English title and abstract should be given below. Abstracts should be written in 9 font size and should not exceed 250 words. The title “Abstract” should be written in bold, aligned to the left. In the studies whose text language is in a foreign language, the Turkish abstract should be placed under the abstract in the foreign language. At the bottom of the abstract, there should be at least three and at most five "keywords" that can describe the field of study. There should be no citation in the abstract.
• The text should be 11 pt, justified. From the top: 2.5 cm, from the bottom: 2.5 cm, from the right: 2.5 cm, from the left: 2.5 cm. Paragraph spacing should be “first 0 pt, then 6 pt” and line spacing should be “single”.
• Page numbers should be placed on the upper left in 8 points, not on the first page of the article.
• When quotations exceed 5 lines, they should be written in quotation marks, 1 point smaller than the text. Quotations less than 5 lines are given in italics in the text. Statements that need to be emphasized are also italicized.
• Pictures, figures and graphics should be displayed under the name of “Figure” in the text. Tables and figures should be given sequence numbers, the titles should be placed above the tables and below the figures, with the first letter of each word in capital letters. In addition, if there are references to tables and figures, they should be given at the bottom in 9 points.

Citations
• Footnotes: 9 points and single spacing. Its alignment should be justified. References in the text should be numbered starting from 1 as footnotes at the bottom of the page. Other than that, it should not be cited in the text. In footnote citations, the surname of the author, publication year and page number are given. If the same author has more than one publication with the same date, letters are given at the end of the year, starting with a.

In footnotes with two authors, "and" should be written between the authors. In footnotes with more than two authors, "et al." after the first author. should be written.

Bibliography: The authors are responsible for the accuracy of the references. Sources and researches used in the articles should be shown under this heading at the end of the article and should be written in 11 font size. Only the references cited in the text should be included and should be arranged alphabetically according to the surnames of the authors.

Ethical Principles

Karadeniz Technical University Journal of the Faculty of Letters expects all stakeholders to bear ethical responsibilities within the scope of publication ethics. The ethical duties and responsibilities adopted by the Karadeniz Technical University Journal of the Faculty of Letters have been prepared by taking into account the Guidelines and policies of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Actions Against Scientific Research and Publication Ethics, which is the second part of the Higher Education Institutions (YÖK) Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive.
The articles and photos that has been sent to the journal for publication may not be returned even if they are not published. The responsibility of all the ideas in the articles published in this journal belogns to their authors.

Journal Publication Policy

Karadeniz Technical University Journal of the Faculty of Letters is published in the digital environment at least once a year in July. It is aimed to publish scientific studies at national and international level in the fields of history, archeology, Turkish, Russian and English languages and other fields of philology, social sciences such as Sociology, Psychology, Art History and Philosophy.
Original research articles, translations and book introductions are published in the journal. The texts must be original works that will contribute to the field and must not have been published elsewhere before. Papers presented at scientific meetings can be published in our journal, provided that they have not been published in another publication.
Studies submitted to the journal must comply with national and international ethical rules. The text should not attack anyone's personal rights and freedoms. Insulting, targeting, demeaning, degrading, religion, language, race, etc. discriminatory expressions should not be used and personal privacy should be taken care of. All scientific, content, linguistic and legal responsibility of the articles published in the journal belong to the authors, the views expressed in the articles are the author(s)' own views and do not bind the journal.
The copyright of the texts sent to the journal belongs to the journal and cannot be transferred without showing the source.
In the evaluation process of the texts, the double-blind method (mutual concealment of the names of the referees and authors) is used. It is essential for a study to be sent to at least two referees for evaluation. Upon the disagreement of both referees, the text is sent to a third referee for evaluation. For the text to be accepted, at least two referees must give a positive opinion on the evaluation. Otherwise, the run will be rejected.
Articles submitted to the journal are routinely screened for plagiarism (Ithenticate). Articles with a plagiarism rate exceeding 15% are returned to the authors.
The journal does not charge any fees from the authors regarding the publication processes.
Manuscripts sent to the authors to be corrected in line with the referee's report should be submitted to the editorial board within one month at the latest after the necessary corrections are made.

Publishing, reading and downloading the articles in Karadeniz Technical University Journal of the Faculty of Letters is free of charge, no fee is charged for any transaction.
